Dr Siobhán Lucey graduated with first class honours from Cork University Dental School and Hospital in 2007 and was awarded the Colgate Prize in Preventive dentistry on graduation.
She went on to complete vocational training in general practice in Edinburgh and spent a further two years in the community and hospital dental services in Scotland, including a Senior House Officer role within the Edinburgh Dental Institute. During this time, she obtained her Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Siobhán completed her specialist training in paediatric dentistry over three years at the Edinburgh Dental Institute. She completed a Masters in Clinical Dentistry (MClinDent) and graduated with distinction from the University of Edinburgh in 2012. Her research investigated the degree of conversion of resin-based materials cured with dual-peak or single-peak LED light-curing units and she was awarded the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry Young Researcher of the Year award in 2012. She attained her Membership in Paediatric Dentistry (MPaed Dent) from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2013.
Siobhán has published on a variety of topics related to paediatric dentistry in various peer-reviewed journals and has presented to local, national and international audiences over the years.
Siobhán has worked in private practice limited to paediatric dentistry in Dublin since 2013 before joining the team at Citygate.
