Dr Jennifer Mc Cafferty presented her clinical research at the Annual Conference of the American Academy of Paediatric Dentistry in Orlando, Florida. Jennifer was presented with a NuSmile Graduate Student Research Award for the research she carried out during her paediatric doctorate training programme in the Dublin Dental University Hospital.

Jennifer McCafferty, Jennifer Kearney and Colette Barry ran the Great Island 10 mile road race in Cobh for the Irish Cancer Society. They weren’t prepared for all the hills but made it to the finish line in one piece!

We are delighted to announce that we won the “Best new dental practice” at the Irish Dentistry Awards 2013! We also achieved “Highly commended” for the “Best practice in Munster” category. We are extremely grateful to our fantastic team. It is because of their hard work and enthusiasm that we achieved this recognition.

Dr Micheal McAuliffe has joined our rapidly growing team at Citygate as our Oral Surgeon. Micheal, originally from Kerry, trained in Cork and is well known and liked by both referring dentists and patients alike.

Micheal can remove teeth, including wisdom teeth, under local anaesthetic or sedation in the Clinic but he can also treat patients under general anaesthetic in the Mater Private Cork which is just next door.

Citygate Specialist Dental Clinic has been short listed for the following categories at the Irish Dentistry Awards 2013:

• Most attractive practice
• Best practice in Munster

The awards ceremony will be held in the Mansion House, Dublin, in February. Practices all over Ireland will get together for the event. We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for an award but we’re delighted to be nominated.
